Introducing Elizabeth – January 2023
This introduction to my good friend Elizabeth Stocker’s work is long overdue, since she kindly built this website for me ten years ago, and has kept it updated ever since.
She is also a talented graphic designer and has collaborated with me in my work many times over the years.
She designed and drew all the lettering onto the stone of all three War Memorials that I have been involved with for David Bedford to carve, and then she came back and painted
the letters. Here are pictures of Elizabeth and David working on the Millhouse Green boundary stone in 2013:
And here is Sam’s Möbius 1 maquette:
Well done Sam!
Both Sam’s works were sold to clients of Andrew Illingworth’s firm FiveTwo.
Sam intends to carry on working on my designs and also developing his own. He is currently learning to inscribe runes.

A Transatlantic Experiment – February 2021
Michael contacted me from California wanting to commission a large sculpture last autumn. I declined the commission, explaining that I would find it hard to arrange delivery, but suggested an alternative – that for a fee I would draw up plans of a sculpture which could then be carved by a Californian stone mason. Michael went for this idea, and together with his landscape architect Stacy hired stone mason Eddy to do the Job.
Michael chose to have a slightly larger version of Möbius 14, which I had exhibited at RHS Harlow Carr in 2019:
So I drew up the designs and emailed them to California.
Eddy carved Möbius 15, and installed it in the garden this February:
Here are Michael and Lauren with their new sculpture:
Well done Eddy and Stacy!

Holmfirth – where Last of the Summer Wine was filmed – hosts an excellent Art Week each July. When I visited the exhibition this summer, I spotted a wonderful free-form sculpture called Trefoil Möbius by Jan Fielden. Afterwards, I contacted Jan and he agreed to exhibit it here at my home among my collection of maquettes.
Here is Jan with his sculpture:

Innovative sculptures at Garden Up! - Sheffield - June 7th & 8th
Garden Up - Sheffield’s Premier Gardening Event - takes place this Summer on the weekend of June 7th & 8th at The Botanical Gardens In Sheffield. The Show aims to stimulate New Ideas in all those areas around the modern Home & Garden lifestyle.
Sheffield based sculptor, Jim Milner, works in local fine-grained sandstone. His beautiful geometric sculptural pieces will be at GardenUp, as well as some of his figurative works. While some of his work is traditional – relief portraits and Celtic knot-work – most of his recent abstract geometric sculpture has been inspired by a life-long love of geometry. These works are attempts to create sensual and classically beautiful garden sculptures to delight the eye and the touch. www.gardenup.org
